I was recently diagnosed with bipolar disorder. Since being on medication for it, I've discovered it is possible for me to live sober life. June 20th is my start date for sobriety, the day I checked myself into a mental health facility! My only regret is that I didn't do it sooner!

i also suffer from Bipolar manic depressive, and major depressive disorder... i'm happy that you found the reason you looked to any substance to mask the symptoms. I am and you should be proud of yourself for choosing to get help for both your mental health and sobriety. Being Duel Diagnosed is very common.

I am in the same boat with you two! My untreated manic episodes was fueling my substance abuse. It all clicked when this was revealed. Congrats on your sobriety!
