I was running uphill today and I was struck w

I was running uphill today and I thinking how similar that challenge is to recovery. It seems really difficult and you have so far to go you can’t even see the top of the hill. So you have to take it one step at a time knowing ur on the right path and eventually you’ll reach the top and ur journey will become easier, if only for a little while, til the next challenge. Just like w sobriety, the key is to never give up, keep going, know ur on the right path and enjoy and/or simply survive the ups and the downs.
There is a surrender in endurance training or any physical exercise that can bring u peace and perspective. I’m so grateful I can be active after all I’ve put my body (and mind) through in the past.
Wishing everyone hope, peace and perseverance

When I was drinking it felt like running into a brick wall at full speed.:grinning_face_with_smiling_eyes:

Yep, or trying to run away from something but u can’t and it catches up to u one way or another. Now I feel I’m running to and for sobriety, to heal, to face life on its terms, and do something healthy for myself. Finally.
