I went to detox this past Friday and found out

I went to detox this past Friday and found out I had a brain bleed my liver enzymes were off the chain and my alcohol level was a four. Which is coma/death level. I am grateful to be alive today and back on track

I just had my first alcohol induced pancreatitis episode after a 4 day drinking binge. Plus fluid in my abdomen from liver damage.
It's frightening to realize that alcoholism really will kill.
Also disheartening to realize that I did it to myself. That is the hardest pill to swallow.
The hope lies in that if I did the damage to myself, then I must also have the ability to repair it.
Stay grateful to be alive.

I am happy you did not die from this last binge! I hope you will seek all the help you can find, otherwise you are going to die. It’s life or death. You get to choose. Please make the right choice!

Read This Naked Mind by Annie Grace. It’s a great book!! I joined her program called The Path. She has another book called The Alcohol Experiment which is about going sober for 30 days. I also have her companion app
I recommend this stuff for everyone because there is a lot of excellent information!!

Thank you everyone. I have looked into Annie Grace signed up for the podcast several times but was not quite ready until my like you guys said my come to Jesus moment. I am signing up for IOP still not able this week to do anything but I am home. I have been actively talking to a sponsor and I’m getting started with the steps. It’s just not an option anymore for me. Which is kind of weird but it’s kind of a relief. I don’t have a choice anymore. I have three children my second grandchild on the way great job a great support system through Church and friends. But I always have had that and still chose to drink! The insanity of it all! But I’m ready to delve into the issues as to why I want to sabotage my life. I’m ready as hard as it might be. in as much as it might hurt to bring up the past from childhood it just has to be done. Thank you guys for all your comments and support!

Keep trying don't give up. I'm still dealing with health issues almost two and half years later but I'm sober and happy and being of use to others. As long as you have a pulse you still have a chance

Oh man Terri!! You are here for a reason. Love that you’re going to IOP. It really helped me and AA. It’s not how many times you fall it is how many times you get back up. Instead of taking a drink and thinking ‘this time will be different’ look at recovery and know this time is going to be the time I stay sober. Hang in there and take super good care of yourself
