I woke up an hour and a half before my alarm went off today. I was just laying awake in bed and thinking of the things I’m grateful for. I’m grateful for waking up clear headed, and completely present. I took my coffee outside and even though it’s cool out, I sat and listened to the birds while the sun rose. I’m grateful to be able to take some time off to get to know the person I have ignored the most in the last three years, ME. I’m grateful to have woken up with positive thoughts, albeit MUCH earlier than I had expected. I’m grateful for my community of sober friends, for meetings, for the amazing connections I’ve made. I’m grateful to be sober. I hope everyone has an incredible day. Sending virtual hugs to all.

It’s going to be a good day! Good morning, Tim!

Great to hear a gratitude post this morning. I have mornings like that at times, but not nearly enough. There’s nothing like waking up early and having that morning coffee outside. Most mornings I’m up by 5am and out of the house before 6. I make time for my prayers and a quick meditation, but then it’s off to the races lol. On the weekends, however, I typically do get up early and have my coffee out back on the patio. For me it’s so necessary!! Thanks for sharing!

Thank you. I’m with ya on sitting outside and listening to the calmness of nature. Great way to start the day. Reflections help a ton.

It’s nice to wake up with gratitude, right? Have a good day!

Yes, yes, friend. The only thing better would be STAYING in nature all day.. I’m hankering for a camping trip…

It is easy to get lost in the trappings of life and forget to love and care for yourself. It is important to sometimes drop everything, even things that are on fire, to just be alive in that moment.

I must admit, I’m jealous! Still, I’m happy to think of you out there enjoying yourself.

Awesome. Keep it up, Garret!

This is something I am finally learning to do. It’s easier to be distracted and get busy doing. I need to get busy living.

Thanks, Katie! I’d be willing to bet you’re pretty amazing yourself! Coffee is best sober, just like life.

I am reading your share, Cheechen-along with the encouraging comments. Yes. What a great reminder of the many, many aspects of sobriety to be, feel grateful for. I am grateful for the park I am near just now. A lovely break from u h m, my dysfunctional family:). I am not taking these moments and / or my sobriety for granted. Let’s keep going!

Excellent, Sarim! I won’t take what I’ve got for granted, either. I’m so looking forward to building on it.
