I woke up this morning with a sparkling water beside my bed and I actually remember what movie I watched and kissed my kids good night!

My family called dcs on me this week. It has been invasive and I feel like they aren’t in my corner. I feel all alone. My husband filed for divorce. All of this because of alcohol. This is the first time ever in my life I’ve ever had any legal trouble. I’m a binge drinker so I’ll go a couple days at a time without drinking, but then I’ll start drinking around 5pm and not stop until I pass out around 9pm. And that will go on for a few days. It’s a vicious cycle. I really want to make it 7 days in a row!! Any encouragement and prayers are very welcomed and appreciated.

GM Julie :sunny: Let this be your bottom. You don’t have to live like this anymore. You are suffering from an illness called alcoholism. You are a sick person not a bad person. Get some help and take back your life. This is a great place to find help. Make the choice to stay sober today :peace_symbol:

Be gentle on yourself. You see the results of doing it the old way, so now you get to try something else. I would suggest getting into a support group of some kind. We have all tried to go the route of doing it on our own. And it didn’t work. There is no shame in asking for help. The apps “meeting guide” and “in the rooms” are two you should look at. They are just another tool for the toolbox of sobriety. You can do it. We got your back.

I plan on finding a meeting but like you said it is so scary! But one day at a time!

Build a network of people you trust to help, and if necessary take it one second at a time. As a friend of mine says," I choose to be sober today. We'll address tomorrow then."

Scary but needed. I remember I was terrified to utter the words “ I’m Tim and I’m an alcoholic” but looking back it was the best thing I have done for myself. Don’t be afraid! You have the courage within.
