I would have never imagined living a sober life…

I would have never imagined living a sober life… but to be happy in it too… never thought it could be possible.. I gave up completely, I was okay dying a drug addict/alcoholic.. well at least I thought so until god gave me the intervention I truly needed, a guard rail just happen to pop up in from me while nodding out at the wheel, I was arrested and while sitting in the holding cell, I was able to sober out.. I was no longer numb from life and when my family came to get me, for the first time in a long time I got to see and feel the pain I have been causing.. I was tired of being a failure and the fun was gone a long time ago, it was just a way of life.. at that point in my life.. I felt as if I needed it to survive. This was 3/19/20 and it’s hasn’t been easy nor fast but it’s been worth it.. these 12 steps have changed me life for the better, I get to be a member of my family, I get to be employable today, I get to rite my wrongs today, i get to cary these principles of the 12 steps in all my affairs, I get to take other men through our literature and the 12 steps that was so freely given to myself. If you new here.., just remember we were all new once, if your scared.. welcome to the club, if you have run ideas and have no idea what to do.. it may not feel great in the moment but ur in a great place, I have a suggestion.. go to a meeting and get a sponsor, and utilize that sponsor!! Bless you all… stay present.. and be good to yourself and others..

I just love how you use the word “I get to”. That’s a changed man. Someone who has grown. By the grace of God I get to be of service.
Stay sober my friend! Keep working those steps!
