Ideas for winter?

Well the weather is getting cold here and kinda gloomy more days than not. What are some activities that you enjoy yourself to stay cheerful and engaged? More lights on? Cooking?

Ohhh there's plenty!
Get creative with it!
There's always snowshoeing, cross country skiing, skiing, snowboarding, tubing, ice skating (once everything begins to freeze over) holiday shows outside in parks/cities, host parties/events-- cooking class, paint and sips (NA libations) fitness class, dance party, movie matinee (make homemade popcorn- setup toppings and treats... I could go on

Full spectrum lights, vitamin d supplements, vitamin b12 supplements. Stay active, engaged, friends, meetings and above all don’t pick up it always makes it worse. Great question and a good reminder to me to start preparing for my mental health in the winter. Thank you for helping me.

Ice fishing…ouch that’s way too cold I’ve tried but I’d rather cook the spoils

Layers my man…layers! And a fresh fish fry is one of the best parts. Big pit fire, Turkey fryer… nothing like it!

On February 4, 2021 I had severe hypothermic shock which led to a massive cardiac arrest. I was flat lined and for all practical purposes dead CPR was performed on me for 90 minutes and I was shocked seven times I came back to life and the doctors said it was a miracle that I lived. After rehab, I came home and sank into a very deep, dark depression. That’s when I started drinking a lot of vodka. I couldn’t walk or drive or go anywhere that’s what I discovered that they delivered butter to my house. I was drinking close to a handle of day I had Very bad withdrawals that required visits to the emergency department on several occasions on my last withdrawal on September 11, 2022. And one of the doctors that treated me in the intensive care unit treated me in emergency department. He told me that he treated me in the emergency department I didn’t remember a thing, he told me it was a miracle I’m alive and that my drinking was going to kill me for real it was that point where I decided that I did not want to drink anymore because I wanted to live.

Not butter but Vodka. I can’t edit it for some reason.

I also had half of my feet amputated because of frostbite and now I am in chronic pain and have a hard time balancing but I am alive and God was looking out for me and it was not time for him to have me come join him. I’m still not down with the higher power thing that I am Catholic and believe in God and Jesus Christ.

I consciously chose to cease participating in winter in 2002. I moved from Boston to Vegas. And I’ve moved a bit more, but I won’t get cold again.

I read and enjoy being outside

I agree with all the suggestions. Have several choices to choose from.

I've been eating A LOT :joy: when I have idle time and want to drink, I've been going on walks, doing a peloton, and eating some more. Calories from food are better than booze right?...justifying here :grimacing::yum:
