Keep your head up. Have you tried having a conversation with your spouse about your sobriety and what’s in your way and how they can help/hurt that journey?

Nicole, I hear you. It does sound like you need to have a conversation with your spouse about your health & well being. If you don’t think that will work, and you feel you need to leave for your own health and safety, then please do. Family, friends, resources at the bottom of this app, AA or SMART Recovery can help guide you. Your health, safety and well being should come first. We’re here for you.

Anything you put in front of your recovery, will be the first thing you lose. Be selfish in your sobriety. Put yourself first!

If your husband doesn’t completely support and respect your recovery, you’re right. It’s really his choice, not yours.

Yes! Agree! Be selfish. I stayed in a toxic marriage for 30 years and was never able to get sober. Don’t be me. Have a conversation with your spouse now! You have to put YOU first. You can do this! Have faith. Reach out. Always here😊

I believe that ship has sailed I think Nicole has already tried to talk to her spouse to no avail. Is there no one who can give her shelter?

I left an abusive and drunk husband 15 years ago. It’s the toughest yet bravest thing I’ve ever done. And one thing I’m so proud of myself for doing. You can’t change somebody if they don’t want it too. Take care of yourself first. Good support here. Keep coming back and be strong :muscle:t2:

I've thought the same thing. 99% of my triggers are from an emotionally abusive relationship. Work in progress on that front, luckily I have other distractions.

That sux I been there just wasn't married but together for long time and had to set healthy boundaries bfor my sobriety especially because she still drinks and I don't use drugs or alcohol 113 days clean and sober

Are you ok recovery sista

I am in the same boat, but I cannot not leave him. It is very complicated! I have accepted that he does not care about me.
