If you can quit for a day, you can quit

I’m not being negative or anything of the sort! However What If One Can't Go a Day Sober. I Don't Know I Try But There's Always An Excuse To Get HIGH. I'm Tired But Not Getting Anywhere Near An Entire Day Without Getting High. So I Ask Again What If? I Don't Know It's Stupid Don't Whether I'm Falling Upside Down Or Just Falling Right Side Up.

Perhaps if you can’t get one day , you might need detox and inpatient treatment to help you get physically separated from substances. I hope you find what you need! Being sober is an amazing way to live for me.

What if you cant

I think the point is being missed. Most people can quit for a day. All you need to do to quit for a lifetime is to never drink today.

Motivation we need. Thank you for this message.

Stay connected to your recovery with others, seek counseling and you can use different tools to help you through.

Carmen, quiting for a day is definitely achievable but staying sober the days after takes work. Not to mention you have to want it and it some cases lose everything just to maintain it. The reasoning behind that is the fact that you need to be reminded why you are staying sober. Not just be doing it because you decided it was a good idea. There members who quit for decades and eventually go back. You have to want it really bad to turn it into a lifetime. Which is why they say don't focus on things you can't control but hold on to the present with hopes of what your doing now will pay off in the future.

Maybe can you get through 5 minutes. And then another 5 minutes. And then begin again…

I never liked this saying in early recovery but there is truth to the statement. All we have is today. I can maintain sobriety one day at a time.
