If you could speak to yourself in active addiction, what truth would you give that no one else gave?
I was miserable in active addiction. They could say, "You don't have to live like this. Life can be better. Life can be great."

You've lost your soul
Get sober whatever it takes. You are worth it
While I was actively drinking, I never got any words of compaction, or wisdom from anyone. I was often talked about, laugh at and everyone seemed to have been glad to tell me about the embarrassing, ugly blackout stories from nights before.
And I was literally sick and tired of those God awful hangovers!
So one beautiful morning, I woke up and said, "Robin, you're so much better than this. Stop allowing the devil's elixir to control you. It's a poisonous potion that will destroy your mind and body. To put it in a nutshell, it ruins your life. So put down the glass, pick up some class, and go get help. You got this Robin.
And so I did. On August 17th I will have 5 years fo sobriety!!
