I'm a sober Dead Head. A Wharf rat. Met a woman online who didn't realize I didn't drink until I met her at a bar to see a band play. She looked at my N/A and asked what it was. She knew of the wharf rats, we danced a bit. She was having a beer and later asked, do you want to meet again? We can be in control. We have tools and support and we can be who we are without drinking. I feel very blessed to be able to be in any environment and not feel a need to drink. Music is my love and it's still part of me. Drinking no longer is.
