Happy Birthday :tada::balloon::gift::confetti_ball::birthday:. Sorry to hear that you are starting over, but at least you made it back. I’m not sure what you’ve been doing in the past to stay sober, but most people who are having success are doing more than just quitting. Read thru this site and take notice of what’s working for others. Find a “program” that you can follow. I rarely hear from people who are doing this on their own, or not working on some daily chosen program. You can do it too! You deserve it! What a beautiful thing to have your birthday and sobriety date be the same day!:peace_symbol:

Welcome back. There is some great advice from soberinSoFlo. I think there are so many individuals here willing to share what works for them and that is great, because we are all unique and there seems to be some great ideas on tools, strategies, programs. Good luck on this journey ! I hope you can find what works for you and remember, it works if you “work it!”

Never stop trying. You’ll make it work I believe in you!

Happy birthday! Welcome back! For when I came back from a relapse I had to change one thing in order to get my sobriety going. Then I had a few more days stacked up. Then I changed another part of my life. Then after a few months The changes I made started to show as I was a different person.
In the big book of Alcoholics Anonymous, it says in the doctors opinion, “we must go through an entire psychic change”. I completely agree and have done so and I’m willing to continue to grow.
Keep your head up.

Hi Cathleen. Welcome. It is wonderful that you realize that you have a problem. For me once I finally admitted that my life was unmanageable it was time for me to start doing the work to stay sober. You are on a better journey than you even. I attended a lot of meetings and still do. I got a lot of women phone numbers. But I believe the most important part was getting a sponsor. She took me to the hospital then rehab bought clothes for me to rehab. In the bag of clothes there was a note that I have to this day. It said to be willing and honest and humble. I say that to myself every morning. I was so full of angry and hurt. I had to let go of false pride because I wasn’t going to be able to stay sober by myself. I got phone numbers from women at the meetings. Yes I then called them when I was really struggling. My sponsor and my home group helped me so much. They still do. I learned that I didn’t have to do this by myself. They held me when I was falling apart. They talked though my panic attacks. I thank God I have them in my life. They are the best support system for me. Yes I truly needed it in the beginning and still do. I also found this app
Meeting guide
It tells you where and when the closest meetings are. Give it your best try because your life depends on it. You are in my prayers

Happy Birthday :tada::gift::birthday: and what a great gift to give yourself
