I'm beginning to suffer the consequences of my addiction. I was to early in my addiction to deal with it. I know what I'm supposed to do, but I never do it. I just dive right back in. I've lost everything and almost everyone. I was clean for 14 years. I never thought I'd be here again. Not sure if I have enough in me to start all over again. It's been a devastating day.

You’re doing it my friend. Only you’re not starting over. You’re resuming. Those 14 years must have taught you so much. And I’ll bet you learned a lot from relapse too. So it’s time to apply that knowledge. And share some wisdom with us relative newbs.

What are you going to get back to in a program of recovery? What are you going to try differently?

I’m a 12 stepper but it’s far from the only game in town these days. Dive right back in. The water is nice!!

Hi David! There’s a reason why you are here and why you posted this. There’s a part of you that knows there’s a solution and wants to find it. Remember, this is an illness, and relapse is very much a part of it. I too got sober young, built a life, and then burnt it down. I was clean for over 20 years. Now I’ve got 118 days. The first few days/weeks were rough, but I’m back. You’re allowed to take what you learned during those 14 years, and incorporate into a new and improved journey. Some would say you are in the perfect place to get started…beaten down and desperate. Use these feelings to your advantage. Be willing and hungry for your recovery. You are not alone. It’s time to man up, face the consequences, and join the living once again.

Don't give up on yourself, please! It seems useless now, but it's not.
All the best.
