Im bored, lonely and heartbroken. Outside of the kids, I lost everything. I have no friends to hang with and no car to drive. I find myself lost in my racing mind. Wondering if this will pass or get better. I feel alone again without the temptation of drinking, just depressed...

An addict alone is in bad company brother..
There are hot lines you can call :telephone_receiver:
Let them know your situation and that you have no transportation, most likely someone will come pick ya up give ya ride to a meeting or direct you to public transportation.. either way it takes action.
How free do you wanna be?
:hugs:

I feel everything you said. I’m sorry you’re hurting but glad you are sober. I’m the same. Thankfully my time with my boy does give me some of that like it sounds like your kids do for you. And you are sober for them. That’s one thing that cheers me up even typing it, I’m sober for my kid and he deserves it. I’ve gotten a lot closer with my sister but like you, no friends outside of AA. I had to leave them. Hang in there man, it does get better and you adapt to it but it takes time.

It's gonna be horrible sorry, but I promise you it will get better. I know this is kinda weird cause we're men but , what helps me when in my head. Simple go into you comfortable space play music that helps you cry. Cry bro cry hard and keep you heart in the direction of if you don't quit your kids won't have a dad, and that isn't fair to them. So far my son has been my clarity. I'm still away out myself.

Im feeling the same right now...its so hard.

They say with every new day it gets better but I can attest that it may take a bit longer. Finding the small blessings in your losses can help. Those friends you had would’ve probably propelled you back to old behaviors. You’re kids are blessings in their own right. Your boredom can be used to put you in a place where you’re forced to learn a new hobby or find a different community outside of what you’re used to. I am where you are, but transforming the narrative has been my strength.

It gets better. Go to as many meetings as you can. Speak up. Tell them you’re lonely. And if anyone is doing anything to please include you

How do you deal with it?

Thank you

I try to stay busy, im getting back into working out everyday, reading my Bible. I sleep with one of my daughters at night so it does help me with the loneliness, but only to a certain degree.

Finding friends that understand what I'm going threw is helping me alot too, normally I shut myself out, but knowing yiur not alone is a big part of recovery I think. If you ever need someone to talk to u can message me

Thank you, I appreciate it
