Im currently taking naltraxone and it works AMAZING to help with craving but unfortunately find myself getting sick alot more. Nausea and vomitting randomly.

Any other medication suggestions or anyone struggling with thia too

I have not heard of it giving that side effect, I would speak with your doctor about it.

No, I was only on it for about a week after going off of suboxone but I quit taking it

I have a terrible addiction to nicotine gum. I quit drinking and smoking but keep this vice. I wouldn't recommend lol

ACAMPROSATE! I was on it for about a year into recovery and it did wonders for me.

It definitely cut my cravings just made me sick as a dog. and lost alot of weight because I couldn't eat due to nausea. So I stopped taking it now

Uhh good to know its not just me.. it definitely helped with the cravings but I can't be puking all the time

I started it I'm having trouble remembering to take it as often as it's supposed to be but it doesn't make me sick so I'm sticking with it

Jessica, sorry you’re going through that. When I kicked I went through helllll, literally. But I didn’t want to trade in one for another and I’m glad I finally got free. Never going back, no matter what! I’ll be praying for you :pray:

It’s only supposed to make you sick if you drink. I have taken it before and this is what it did to me and how the doctors explained it would work. I would definitely check with your doctor. Sounds like you’re allergic or having some sort of adverse reaction to it. But I’m no doctor, lol. Hopefully everything will turn out well for you.

That was my understanding with Naltraxone was that if you had ANY alcohol in you, you would become violently ill. I took this to mean things like cough syrup, mouthwash, perfumes, etc. Alcohol is in a lot of stuff. Good luck on your journey!!
