I'm going on 5 months sober. I will never use drugs or drinking alcohol ever again.
Because being sober is so much better. And my family is more important to me
That is great but get the program and it will get harder. One day at a time.
Congratulations on your 5 month mark make sure you stay grounded and connected with people in recovery and a personal note for me I couldn't have made it without my church community I've learned one thing over my years of on and off again recovery I'm 57 and just went through an amazing program called Morgan's Mercy mansion in Winnsboro Texas and it was more faith-based than it was recovery and I have never experienced anything more freeing than realizing that God has got me he's not holding a hammer over my head he loves you and in my opinion that is the only way to truly be free because drugs and alcohol are just the byproduct of an underlying issues of why we use in the first place when you don't get to the roots of the problem those roots grow back and if you don't have good fruit growing from them the fruits of the spirit and have the Holy Spirit guiding you those evil Roots grow back and you find yourself stuck in relapse again and again and again at least that was in my case I can say that sobriety is amazing but I couldn't do it without the help of Jesus he's there for you he's no respecter of person just as he was there for me and it changed my life my name is Francine Mayfield and I am proud to be a Christ follower
