Nice list esp birds. I often think about animals and how they live. They don't need alcohol. Humans don't either.

That's right and I have thought about that as well JD. The gift and curse of consciousness I suppose 
What do you teach? I taught middle school English and Drama (which there was a lot of!) Then later high school technology before going into educational software (20 years ago).

Oh nice! I taught Pre-K and first for a few years but I taught kindergarten for over 10 years. I'm not teaching right now I was homeschooling my children. In that time I got my masters degree so I'm going back to work in the fall, not sure I want to work in a school though, it's not good but I'm staying open to new opportunities.
I'm currently teaching recovery classes in the jail part time though.

I always wanted to teach elementary. 6th is the lowest I went buy really there were younger kids in there. Taught adults too in a consulting firm and kids are far better learners. Most adults couldn't even pass the tests we make them take in high school.

Yes the education system is a one size fits all and not everyone learns the same. Many people are capable they just aren't given the right education unfortunately. There is a universal design for learning but it'll be years before that gets going because of the bureaucracy of the education system
