Im having trouble accepting i'm an actual alcoholic and not just being dramatic abt drinking

Well said. I didn’t care what anyone labeled me, if it would help me to stop completely fu(king my life up. I found my peeps in the rooms, and the fu(king up of my life stopped. In fact I started to build a better life than I could imagine.

I had the same issue. But then I realized I was in denial A LOT. I had been fired for drinking, I had had run ins with the law, but all the while I thought my relationship with alcohol was healthy. I had good education and steady successful work under my belt. But the truth was my substance abuse wasn't healthy. Even if I'm not one of those stereotypical homeless drunks in movies, I was still consumed by a substance. I'm trying to not worry about a label and just stop drinking!
