I'm hitting a 8 day mark and I'm getting hard cravings
Something that helps me is to find something else to occupy my mind for at least 20 minutes and the craving will lessen. Meditating, breathing, reading, taking a walk and just listening to my surroundings. Call a friend or even a support hotline. Even a household chore you’ve been putting off. Anything that has nothing to do with your addiction.
Call sponsor. Call others. Go to a meeting live or zoom. Share. Read literature. Pray. Doing all this will guarantee the adage that “this too shall pass”.
Go to a meeting and take it one day at a time when u feel like you need to use that's when u need a meeting pray do a hobby run or workout just keep going one day at time
I know that feeling of craving it’s hard I usually give in but this time I feel like I’m done cuz my soul feels free.
Congratulations on making it to Day 8.
Cravings are normal and can be managed. Take it one moment at a time. Reach out to a sponsor. Do something fun. Play the tape.
Eight days takes effort. When those urges show up, shifting your focus for a while can help. A walk, fresh air, calling someone, or add more friends. Just keep going.

AA/NA meetings, get sponsored and doing the 12 steps are the 3 actions that will help tremendously.
Keep it simple. I’m here if you want to talk or have any questions
The BEST way to h handle "alcohol " cravings I am assuming...is to keep a full stomach, such as high protein and carb meals spaghetti and meatballs(sauce) fettuccine Alfredo(chicken) chicken strips and macaroni n cheese tacos
just stay full. Also boredom, keep up on an "active" hobby fitness, biking, any sport. All that will easily take your mind off early on set cravings.
Practice Mindfulness:
"Paying attention in a particular way: on purpose, in the present moment, and nonjudgmentally,"
Core Concepts: It involves being present in the moment, engaging with the current experience, and letting go of ruminations about the past or future
Non-judgmental Awareness: Observing thoughts and feelings without labeling them as "good" or "bad".
It’s hard!! I am so new to this and also get the cravings! I have to tell myself that I am not going to let the alcohol take over my life any longer and it’s not easy!! I believe in you!! If you need help don’t be shy to reach out! We can be friends!! This is a journey together to help each other!!

Keep it up bro. It only gets better.
