Nothing is wrong with you. You’re not alone. You’re here. You’re fighting. That takes so much courage, Kasie.

Not a thing is wrong with you! It's a bunch of chemical reactions gone haywire. It's not you! You're strong to be here a honest. You can do it!

Hopeless will fade in time, just keep pushing forward. Don’t expect to have all the answers on how to live sober right away. Do it just for today. Add tools to make the now easier to handle. Search for those tools in the same way you used your energy to find a way to drink/run/cope/numb, whatever. Addicts are some strong willed individuals, focus that on something positive.

You’ve got this!

You keep going and I am trying to do the same.

If you are like me, than you’re sick. You have an illness. It’s a very frustrating illness, because it’s effects your mental, physical, and spiritually. We are very similar to those that suffer from an eating disorder. An anorexic looks in the mirror and doesn’t see what everyone else sees. The mind plays tricks on the anorexic. It lies and distorts reality so that the sick person continues to stay sick. Everyone else can see it, but the sick person can’t. Alcoholism has that same similar component of the mental obsessions and distorted thinking. Add to that the physical craving and allergy, and it’s a tough illness to treat. It takes a lot of support and work to get and stay sober. That’s why there are treatment centers, meetings, and many other tools to help us recover. You are not a bad or weak person. You are just sick. Go get some help. You shouldn’t do this alone. I’m a fan of AA, but there are other programs as well. I recommend you download the AA big book. It was written like 80 years ago, so it’s a little outdated as far as wording goes, but it explains the problem and gives a solution. Hope this helps :peace_symbol:

Nothing is wrong with you, you’re a human living in a world where alcohol is so glamorized and easily accessible. Start by telling yourself you’re going to over come this every single day in the Mirror even if you don’t believe it. One day you will believe it. Write it down 5 times every morning or every night- do what works for you. Have self compassion

If you feel you've dragged everything else in the event you haven't tried a spiritual connection with your creator Jehovah God I suggest that's where you should turn ...... He's waiting to hear from you ...:heart::pray:

If you think you will or think you won’t, you’re probably right…

Kasie download the Everything AA app. Find the link to online meetings. Start attending some of those meetings via zoom. It is amazing what you can do with a little help.

Fixing us isn't like fixing a car. You don't just replace a part and call it good. You need to fix everything. Don't just rely on this app, don't just rely on one program. Address all of your issues, or you'll just keep ending up back in the same place. You wouldn't try to get out of quicksand using just the index of your right hand. Use all of your limbs, fight like h3ll.

You are going to overcome this and there is nothing wrong with you.

Low battery this end … so will go back and read the comments while you want sobriety enough to be posting to begin with.

If you were not capable of overcoming, Kasie-I don’t think, feel that you would have taken the time to share here.
Utilize the support and suggestions. You are never alone. I really cannot stand that I have an addictive brain while I am also blessed to be part of a community of individuals talking about super real sh - t. I think we’re all beyond idiotic social media posts. I know I am. It is about to get better Kasie.
You can overcome this.
Be really careful about the words you are using / how you are speaking to your own self.
I struggle with that every day.
You can do this.

I believe you will, and The Spirit will guide you at your request. You are a beautiful and unique creation wholly loved by the Creator.

If this were easy, you wouldn’t need an app like this

Keep working if it’s worth it to you

I struggle everyday with it I’m back on day 1 it’s not easy I’m with you and nothing is wrong with you

What's wrong with you is that you keep on believing the LIE; that this time, everything will be okay. But it never is, is it?

You have to learn to play the scene all the way forward. You might feel some relief but it is very short lived. And when it's over with you will wake up knowing that you accomplished nothing and now you will have more guilt to carry around just like you're doing right now.

Beginning a journey of sobriety hurts in the beginning. We're used to numbing the pain. The way you numb the pain is by going to AA meetings and surrounding yourself with people that have been sober for a long time and listen to what they have to say.

Let me give you something to read. When I read this, my eyes were opened wide.

Men and women drink essentially because they like the effect produced by alcohol. The sensation is so elusive that, while they admit it is injurious, they cannot after a time differentiate the true from the false. To them, their alcoholic life seems the only normal one. They are

restless, irritable and discontented

unless they can again experience the sense of ease and comfort which comes at once by taking a few drinks—drinks which they see others taking with impunity. After they have succumbed to the desire again, as so many do, and the

phenomenon of craving

develops, they pass through the well-known stages of a spree, emerging remorseful, with a firm resolution not to drink again. This is repeated over and over, and unless this person can experience an

entire psychic change

there is very little hope of his or her recovery.”

Can you relate to any of this at all?
