I'm new here. Been sober for a yr. I've been doing great since i was hospitalized a few times. I have stage 4 cirrhosis but I've finally gotten healthy enough to b put on the transplant list. My troubles have been that it seems when you quit drinking, your friends disappear. And at 51, it seems that it's a requirement to drink when dating. I don't understand people anymore

I completely agree. I am also 51
And have been sober for 7 months now. Friends who are now acquaintances' fell off and scattered away from me about a year ago. I look back now and we were just DRINKING BUDDIES (per say). We have nothing in common now. The Dating scene just needs to be avoided with anyone who doesn't understand that you live a Pure lifestyle Now due to your Health. Lost my Husband due to Cirrhosis 14 years Ago.
He was 41. And then I almost ended up just like him. So now I live a life in support of a good rock solid foundation without any medication (alcohol). And I keep my temple clean 1 Day at a time. God Bless You and your on my Prayer list
