Struggling mentally and with addiction.. Any advice?
Not advice - just suggestions cause these things have worked out for me in the past.
Meetings, reach out to a support who won't hit you back with judgement, journaling, going out on a walk and taking deep breaths if you're able to are some immediate distractions to the discomfort.
I've started leaning heavy into my hobbies and little stuff I've wanted to learn but never had the chance due to active addiction. Fall in love with the stuff you did before you used or pickup something new!
Meetings and a sponsor! Message me if you’d like a sober friend
Therapy, meetings if that’s something that works for you, physical activity is always a good one for mental health and addiction. Finding someone to talk to that will hear you and guide you through the mental and substance struggles can be beneficial.
Pray! Meetings! Sponsor! Working for me!
I was going to 5 zoom meetings a day in the beginning. The first 90 days was rough. I was physically shaking my first in person meeting.. sweating out booze..
Sponsor helped alot..
Now 3 years later.. im just chilling.. lol
Pray if you believe in God get to a meeting as many times a day that you can make it’ll help being around other people in recovery and when they ask who’s new raise your hand and tell them your name and what your going through you’ll see how many people that will come up to you and ask for phone numbers as well
