I'm really struggling rn have been for about a week now. Have a lot going on and just need to escape and forget
In my experience and also what the A.A. book says is to acknowledge what’s going on, immediately ask God to remove it from you and for Him to guide you , and talk to someone about it, and try to help someone else or turn your thoughts towards helping. It seems like you done two already by posting. Now just ask God for His help. He did for me what I couldn’t do for myself. I assure you He’s the answer and escape your looking for! Stay strong. Just don’t pick up
Thank you Wayne so much. I am going thru a lot right now and this is honestly my first time really focusing on sobriety and trying to keep positive people in my circle and life. So it's all new. I appreciate any and all help
Anytime. If you don’t have an A.A big book I highly recommend it. You can find an AA meeting in any town all over America. There’s an app for it you can use to find one. My suggestion is to find a meeting, attend it if you want but you can ask anyone there and I assure you that they will give you a book. Start in the Dr’s opinion and read to pg. 169 within 3-5 days. It gives you the tools to fight addiction and on pg. 45 It says that the books main objective is to ourselves That will solve our problem. Which means that it will connect you to God or whatever your higher power may be. Mine is Jesus Christ.
Main objective is to connect us to a power greater than ourselves.
Sorry for type-0. It’s supposed to say that the books main objective on page 45 says is to connect us to a power greater than ourselves which will solve our problem once you get the book in hand and read some of it you will understand what I’m talking about it was written in 1935 and he’s been helping people stay sober ever cents
Thank you so much my therapist today highly recommend as or na and substance abuse counseling.
Just dig in.. it’s tough as eff . Do what you Know is right for you and every around you.
Who wants read book? Today! Only way go to walk around lake best is sunset.
Meet different culture! Interesting,
The problem with escaping is eventually you have to come back up to the surface and start feeling all over again.
When we are newly sober we start to feel all over again so what you're going through is normal and you just need to give time, time.
Try getting to some meetings and hang out with some people that have been sober for a long time and discuss some of the stuff that you're feeling with them.
The lie that our disease tells us is that this time, everything will be okay.
But it never is, is it?
Make sure you play the scene all the way forward. You may feel good for a while but sooner or later you will be right back where you are right now with more guilt to carry around. More guilt and shame realizing that you accomplished absolutely nothing and now you have to start all over again.
