Im so bored, what hobbies do you guys do?

I get the boredom. I’ve been writing, reading, and trying to get into TV again. Lately, I’ve been binging a series or two on the weekends. Have you tried picking up a new hobby? Any thoughts?

Working out became my religion… I’m really into it which I never thought in a million years I would. Pick something and see if you like it if you don’t pick something else until you find something that sticks and you can get really into it. Good luck :shamrock:

It took up a hobby and it turned into a very lucrative business.

Find a hobby that interests you and run with it.

I went through many different hobbies when I started my sobriety I did some beating and some painting and I made blankets painted rocks red books. Now I’m kind of burnt out on that except for my sobriety books my 10 steps now I’m cooking it to break out my sewing machine and start sewing in May, I will have five years sober so I have to tell you I have come along ways and I have found myself again and I am happy being sober. I actually like to chill out at home now. And when I was drinking, it was go go go.

All outdoor activities. Today i mtn biked. I boat on rivers, hike, trail run, xcountry ski in winter.. pickle ball is fun for tons of people..it’s social and active/healthy..

Reading books and listening to audiobooks is engaging for the mind too. I read in the mornings over coffee before the day starts and listen to an audiobook (non-fiction) while i prep cook and eat dinner. I also learn spanish on duolingo every night, do nytimes wordle and connections. Gotta keep the mind engaged and body active.

I game and play my instruments.

When I got clean, I really got back into the gym, and that led to running, and that got me into the kitchen with healthy cooking and meal prep, and then added yoga.

But fishing, reading, year round yard work, and growing hot peppers in the summer are other endeavors.

Plants and piano!

Guitar, motorcycle, hiking, kayaking spending time with clean friends going out to eat, recovery conventions, sober events

I picked up gardening. Learning as I go. It’s peaceful. You can also listen to a sober story or audio book while you work on the garden
