I'm so OVER how all these Impatient Treatment Centers say

I'm so OVER how all these Impatient Treatment Centers say their here to help...yeah, if you have a substantial amount of money to give them...Detox is only a temporary band aid, Medicaid doesn't pay for any long term inpatient centers, and that's what I need, I've tried Outpatient, Counceling, Meetings...and I relapsed again (not saying it's their fault)...my MAT clinic refers me to a detox that doesn't help with Crystal Meth detox..ughhh...I'm about to do something to get myself locked up (I know it sounds crazy, and it is, but...I'm Out of options, and if the courts can help someone get off the streets and into sober living; it's a 1 year program..idc what I have to go through, to get my life back, and I Don't want to die from my addiction)...I need Structure and Accountability, I feel that's the best route...NOT what I want, exactly, but it's what I Need...

That's why there are so many people in jails and prisons because of lack of resources for people with no income, and they just end up giving up on themselves, get deep into the drug lifestyle, commiting crimes..then eventually get arrested...if there were more resources for low or no income drug users, there wouldn't be overcrowding of jails..it's Sad, really... Addiction is a Brain Disease, a Medical Issue, so why doesn't the insurance agencies like Medicaid, treat it as such????

You are not wrong. Much of my AA group in my small rural town are from a local sober living house. Thankfully they have some sliding scale options but mostly you need to be wealthy to afford it. About 5k a month. It’s great for those who can afford it and I don’t blame the directors of the house, there are bills, staff, insurance, lots of activities for residents… I get it’s expensive to operate. But there needs to be other options besides going to jail for 30-60 days.

I’m sorry you’re in that situation

I'm sorry you're struggling with this. I know it disgusts me to see how many inpatient treatment centers and sober living houses are solely in it for profit when more and more people are dying and needing help. I now work at the same treatment center that I was a patient at back when I first got clean but it is a state funded treatment center through BayCare so they don't charge anything for residents to be there for the 6 to 9 months. They just have to want to get clean. I really wish there were more of these kinds of places out there but unfortunately there isn't.

I hear everything your saying. You can do this if your willing. That’s the first thing. You are accountable for your own self. It’s no one’s fault you relapse. I went cold turkey after using meth for 2 yrs straight. Hang in there believe in yourself. We all have choices Today I get to be clean and sober I choose my recovery over anything. You have to want to get better. Give yourself some credit. Walk with your head high and stop blaming. Do the footwork. Start the path to recovery good luck♥️
