Im starting sobriety back tomorrow. Im so scared about this.
@matt150045 Why are you scared? Your sobriety tracker reads 145 days. Did you relapse? GAWD I hope you didn't.
I did. Ugh.
Relapse is part of the stories. It doesn't have to be anymore. I was told people that relapse...
Didnt go to meetings
Didn't work with a sponsor
Didn't work a program/steps
Didn't become of service
Didn't get in the middle of the heard
The common theme is "Didn't."
I was told sober people "Do" things are in action. I need to suit up, show up, and do the work to maintain sobriety.
I hope you've found the gift of desperation to look at the behaviors that proceed the drink.
Awe.. dude. I'm sad to hear that yet happy you knew where to go... You ran home to the Loosid Community to seek refuge. Download the Everything AA App and listen to the Joe and Charlie audio version of the Big Book start from the beginning. You'll get a lot out of it.
How you doing Matt ?
Good for you for being brave and making the decision to be sober It’s ok to be scared. Most of us, if not all, were scared to get sober. Honestly I still am scared sometimes I will “fail” at sobriety and drink again. Do you have someone who won’t judge you about this that you can talk to? You can do this!
Matt….. what is your plan of ACTION?
What weren’t you doing for your sobriety? Relapse is not any part of healing or recovery. It’s lack of.
For our recovery we need a plan of action…..working the steps thoroughly with a sponsor, going to meetings everyday, praying & meditating each morning , during the day and evening, reading the BB, connecting with others in our home group, OR in relapse mode.
There’s absolutely no middle ground for us.
WE have a progressive disease that will kill us.
What are you willing to do?
Do you have family?
Matt, you got this. You know what to expect and all you have to do is get through the withdrawals. Sounds easy, it’s not. Or maybe it is. Have someone with you. Have someone you know can help. It’s three days with company and support. It’s three days you aren’t your best but the best three days to being your best.
You got this . Honestly staying sober is the scary part . I just made two years of sobriety a few days ago. You can do this. Take that scary and turn it into the motivation, into bravery. You can break the chains find a meeting or.group you can get into. I use a app called Newform and they have meetings for everyone and everything. You can do it
