Im struggling so bad. I started drinking again a while ago. Every night at bedtime I’m disgusted with myself. Every morning I have a strong resolve that I won’t drink that day. Then by noon the thoughts are already creeping in and by 3:30 I’m drinking.
I just want to stop.
It's always a good day to stop, but when your body starts hurting, oi vey. Hope nothing bad happens for a long time for you. In my experience, it helps to do something else to get that high like a runner's high from jogging, biking, walking, watering plants, etc. Moving, basically. Not stopping in our thoughts. Cleaning. Good luck! Talk to me. I'm bored too.
Don’t think about it. Make something else take up space in your brain. Find a hobby or class to be fiercely into. Take private lessons for an instrument like violin or guitar etc etc. The teachers usually come to your house and most of the time, u end up getting in line mentally cuz they will give you a look lollll
I know that feeling all too well. Just gotta make up your mind and do the thing. Maybe at 3:30 you go to a meeting instead. Or log on to a virtual meeting.
Sarah I had to go to an AA meeting early mornings daily before work. This helped me start my day and get my head straight before I got sideways.
Alcoholism is cunning, powerful and baffling. I had to take real action to get and stay clean.
I’m here if you want to talk or have any questions
I think when we had all that snow, I got bored too just sitting in the house so I’ve went around to the liquor store day after day after day after day now I got the shakes and the shits haven’t eaten anything for two days
I understand so well! We have to choose way to change our habits. It's tricky. But I'm grateful you are here and sharing your struggles. That's a start!

Wat has helped me through the cravings is I keep peppermint candy near by and when I get a bad craving I open this app and find someone to talk to or watch one of the podcasts
Have you tried medication coupled with a SA program and or therapy?
Yeah Sarah, medication might help. Will power sometimes isn't enough cause cravings is a chemically induced factor.
I was taking Acamprosate and Neltrexone but I still had cravings but now I'm taking Vivitrol as of 3 weeks ago.
It's a monthly injection that is more effective and so far I've had no cravings. It's covered by most insurance companies but you have to get it prescribed by your PCP.
You got this.
You may hate this but go to a meeting during that craving. The AA app has a meeting virtually every
