Met a lovely sober lady in 2000. She helped me get sober. She had about 16 years. I had about 14. We’ve each struggled with relapses over the past few years. Decided to distance ourselves until we could each get a grip on our sobriety. Got a call from the hospital last night because I was still listed as her emergency contact. I rush to the hospital and am saddened by what I see. My friend has Wernicke encephalopathy caused by thiamine deficiency caused by alcohol abuse. Outlook depends on brain swelling reduction. This what they call “wet brain”. Please pray for Jill as she cannot pray for herself. My God, this could be me or anyone of us. 
Prayers.. we all struggled with relapses.. I thank God that He’s here to help me thru.. my sobriety date may 27,1996.. but I still think about drinking everyday..
