In a funk…

So much happening right now. I can’t even begin to explain it all. So I won’t. So overwhelmed and sad. I just know I need to reach out someway.. This is the best I can do with reaching out today. Still clean and sober though. 71 days by the grace of God.

Congratulations on 71 days. I think that is a huge milestone. You're coming up on three months that's amazing. Sometimes we have to pat ourselves on the back and learn to become our biggest supporters. Think of all the things you're grateful for and focus on those cause gratitude does change the attitude. Stay strong you got this.

We all get into emotional and mental distress. We are NOT immune just because we are in recovery. The daily stress and struggle is real. The world won't stop just because I'm having a Bad Sad day. You're right though be grateful and accountable for your personal relationship with others and you will never regret investing yourself into your recovery.

Creatures are well...emotional creatures..anything living that has the ability to maybe to might just stress out Whether that be running late or running from a t rex. It is okay to feel what you need to and let it out because we get so wrapped up in our realities. Remember in a 100 years it is going to be okay.=)

When an urge to use interacts with your stress management or poor outside influence, a great reminder is just a simple check with your sobriety counter and say to yourself, "hey I made it this far, I can go further, I'm worth it"

71 days ...and counting! Keep at it and maybe journal all of the yuck and muck in the brain...just let it out and maybe you will find that you feel a little better. We are here. Be where you are. Stay steady and sober. You got this!

Jenna, 71 is huge!:dancer:. Early sobriety is definitely a bumpy ride, but you can get through this! Lots of meetings, doing the 12 steps with a sponsor really helped me:pray:. The more I did the better and easier life became.
I’m here if you have any questions

First off, congratulations on your sobriety! By my count it’s like 85 days now? After the first 3 the months just start ticking by, it did in my case. Second, when you start getting overwhelmed, dont try and think of everything at once, make a list of what you need to do, then just think of the NEXT thing you can do, even if it’s take 15 min time out for yourself to get centered. Break things down into bite sized pieces and stay focused on the here and now. Take it easy, give yourself a whole lot of grace, one day at a time, one minute at a time if need be. You’ve made it 85 days! Just don’t give up, and you’ll make it for the rest of your life!!
