Hello everyone! I am an individual in recovery and so it my significant other. We have been through so much together and it has been hard.
My S/O would relapse and when I tried to seek advice to best support him, I got a lot of “leave him, run” and that’s not what I wanted to do. The lack of support and research I did showed not of guidance on staying with your partner.
So I decided to make my own Facebook group focused on positive stories on relationship that have worked and survived the disease of addiction. I am in no way enabling toxicity or abuse. Just want a different outlet where the person can know there are different options and letting them decide in a judgement free safe space.
We hear all the time we can’t make an addict get sober, only they can do that. Same concept should apply to someone in a relationship with an addict. you wouldn’t tell an addict “just stop using” so we don’t believe in telling someone “just leave them” only they can decide that for themselves
It’s new and would love some support!!!
