I’m so ready for things to take a turn for me. This depression feels different then the depression I felt before I got clean like it’s heart breaking and it’s like nothing at all can even begin to make it any better
Pulling yourself out of depression, regardless of the differences in them, is gonna happen. Being sober is giving the chemicals in your brain a fighting chance to get thru this bout of depression. Stop breeding negativity, it’s contagious. Remind yourself that you’re worth it and point out good things around you. Read positive quotes. Be gentle with yourself.
It’s hard to do when the only ppl ur around that u look at as family are literally talking about u behind ur back not knowing the whole time they are heard and the fact that u literally financial can’t get urself out of the situation
Girl, I went thru the same sort of thing for 4 years. I barely left my bed. My mental health crumbled. My best friend who I’ve known close to 30 years told me she didn’t recognize me anymore. And after I visited another life long friend who I consider a sister I made the decision yo apply for an Oxford house and another sober living home. I asked a relative and another friend to help me pay for the rent and move in few and I straight up told my ex while I was being berated for the millionth time that k was moving out and refuse to live that way anymore. Told him my child will not have the example he’s been giving on how men should treat women.
And girl, I finally fought for my life back. It took me years, though.
I’m so sorry you’re experiencing what you’re experiencing
Don’t let the devil trick you…. It may be the first time that you’re feeling/experiencing clarity. The fact that you’re seeing your situation completely for the first time in a long time. You are winning, don’t stop now.
