Your right sometimes it's very hard but I know if I stay in that neighborhood nothing but bad can come from it.... my head is a dangerous place to be. My therapist gave me some grounding techniques last night:
Breathe in for 4 sec breathe out for 4 sec feet planted on the ground with your palms on your thighs. Do this 5 times
I hope this can help

When my thoughts are negative and rapid, I choose to override them with positive thoughts. It’s a battle! But a battle that I win.
You can do it too👊

I have a problem with racing thoughts too. It’s so hard to not worry or not focus on the negative but you just HAVE to take every thought captive like it says in 2 Corinthians 10:5. You have to force those thoughts to yield to the obedience of Christ and be transformed by the renewing of your mind! Most of the time relapse occurs when we make one small compromise. Then it’s easier to make another bigger one and another one and before we know it we’re in a trap house looking over our shoulder again. But on the flip side of that though every time we refuse to make a compromise and we resist it makes it easier to resist again and again. James 4:7 says resist the devil and he will flee from you!
