In person meetings are where i found real recovery 14 + years ago

Its so easy on social media to claim to be clean and sober. For me real sobriety happened in the rooms of 12 step programs like AA and NA. On here it's easy for me to say everything is great when its not. I'm hard core old school so please forgive me if i don't really take to social media sobriety. I was taught to make a meeting a day and schedule work and other life events that are within my control around those meetings. There was no such thing as cutting back meetings, because i couldn't cut back or control my alcoholism. I heard slogans in in person meetings like: "meeting makers make it. " "SLIP, Sobriety Losing It's Priority". I was told to chase my recovery like i chased my drinking. In in person meetings you hear stuff like: "stinking thinking leads to drinking." "Service keeps you sober". "Let us love you until you learn to love yourself." For this alcoholic no app or social media platform will ever compare to being in an in person live meeting. I do wish you all the best.

I agree that you can’t beat In person meetings but this is just another outlet. Like they say in the rooms … take what you need and leave the rest

I agree, there visit something magical that happens in live meetings. Also when I ask for help, a physical, not virtual hand is extended. This doesn't mean that if I ask for money, someone is going to dip into his/her pocket and give me a C-note. Help comes in other forms.

The Home Group i belonged to in Vegas LITERALLY SAVED MY LIFE!!! I was on death's door from others health issues. I have a vlog about my journey on NielFlamm dot com (the app won't allow me to post the true address)

This has worked for me, kne day at a time and those days have added up to more than 15 years. Coca Cola tried New Coke and how did that work out? Nothing wrong with being classic.
