Is anyone doing this without a program or sponsor?
I am
I am using online SMART recovery meetings for my support.
What is SMART recovery
Self-management and recovery training. They teach you skills to manage your own recovery.
Oh nice. Where can I find these meetings?
Online. Google SMART recovery and check out the website. Online meetings are done through Zoom.
Kk. Thank you
You're welcome.
I am
I am, ive been doing it fir 2,504 days. I see a therapist though and have for 7 years. AA works for some, but not everyone. There are so many different ways to get help now. Do the research and find what works for you.
I did almost 4 years ago. It was honestly no longer about the drinking, although it was life-threatening at that point. It really became about the lies, sneaking around, trying to get rid of empty bottles not believing these other people saw me drunk, when clearly I was, the lethargy and dark, dark depression. I woke up that morning and said that’s it, It’s over. I’ve made a promise to myself that alcohol will never cross over my lips again. To keep that promise for four years, traveling to places like Dublin and Belfast where they practically give the alcohol away. So social situations can be challenging for all about 30 seconds when I compare and contrast my life before and after I used.
Suddenly, the decision to use is no longer important to me. I’m not saying that everyone can do this, all minds work differently. Think about your mind as a file cabinet with some drawers you can lock away. Put that part of your life into the cabinet and lock it away. This may sound like some I am rambling, but it worked for me. I woke up one morning decided enough was enough, put it in the cabinet lock the drawer, and I threw away the key. All facile analogies, but I think you understand the power taking this approach or you will be forced to decide once you’ve hit what is truly rock bottom.

There are two types of groups in sobriety. Those who plan to make it and those who fail to plan. If you're doing this, sobriety on your own then you're definitely in the fail to plan group. Your failure is immenit.
I started with a program and a sponsor. It just wasn’t for me. I’ve been flying solo for over 4 years
I am totally alone. And making it
I am.
I’ve did without a sponsor but not without a community of support. How’s everything going?
