Is anyone self prescribing themselves Antabuse or other anti alcohol pills, because they are so desperate? There are some new ones out. Antabuse is the extreme one where nothing alcohol can go near you or in you. Then there's the other types that slowly get you weaned off somehow. I think you can just ask your doctor for those or a psychologist to help? Antabuse will get you slightly sick if anything alcohol goes in you. I think it's used in conjunction with behavior modification as well. Obviously most important would be inpatient alcohol treatment and some of them are not that expensive and the food is super duper amazing usually.

Maybe it's just me but I don't see taking "anti alcohol pills" as an act of desperation. I feel it's a tool that people can use to assist in making things more manageable. It certainly doesn't take away cravings completely but it does help in managing them more effectively. I say all of that from experience, I'm on Naltrexone.
The last time I self prescribed something didn’t work out all that well, then I got clean and found out my thinker wasn’t working all that well..
I’m not sure if there is an easier softer way of our own devices.
