Is it just me or is every song

Is it just me or is every song on you're Playlist a trigger now that you're sober...

Should I delete them or what?

This is something I've definetly dealt with. As well as finding concerts that I can go to that won't trigger too heavily. I don't think that you should delete all your playlists, but put them on hold for a bit. Try to find new music that doesn't pull you back in, even songs from the same artist may not trigger you but you can still listen to your favorite artists. I'd love to talk about music and share what Ive found.
This song means alot to me and has a positive vibe. Hope you enjoy, message me if you need anything.

Absolutely loved the song Chris. Big reggae fan. I especially love the album cover. I was just talking about the super expensive coffee last night with a friend...weird.

I listened to Linkin Park and Eminem a lot when I was drinking, and angry, and feeling sorry for myself. I have to be careful with those as they can drag me into that mind set again.

I hate whiskey, so listening to Tennessee Whiskey doesn’t seem to trigger me. Any Bob Marley song or Mac Miller song has the potential to. The song Chicken fried with that line, “cold beer on a Friday night” triggered me the other day. It depends on what your poison was, I suppose.

Absolutely, I just goes to show me that I have been lying to myself when I said "I have no emotions" I'm grateful in a way for some of these trigger songs, because they remind me that I am no longer "Numb".

I think if it's a trigger avoid them while they are a trigger. But triggers change...I can now listen to music and not be triggered...just be aware and stay clear... why push your own buttons... the demon of the substance you used is strong... especially in the beginning

I get it. I have different trigger Reactions some make me think of the negatives and some remind me of what I lost due to addiction. Both can lead me down a rabbit hole of self-loathing but some inspire me to never want to go back to the "demons" that I walked willingly with for so long.

P. S. love your bio story. Pain has been like white noise in my life for as long as I can remember.

I’m not a country music fan, but I’m always amazed at how many songs are about alcohol, heartache, or both. And that’s why I’m not a fan.

Jeez, I remember I used to say that I wished I we're just an alcoholic (lol 31 days ago) but I truly think those who alcohol is there DOC have it so much harder because it's in their face everywhere they look or listen. There should be a law about that just like there is a law about smoking advertising.

I always watched Hallmark Christmas movies when I was feeling all buzzed and warm inside. This Christmas I didn't watch one of them bc they do drag me back. Now I find my whole world of music is opening up. Gotta love Spotify!

Tell me about it. I have always had the issue of my mind sounding like a "beehive" I guess that is the last remnants of ADHD as a child. I found morning meditation (not medication lol/jk) really helps. Check out "Ted Talk" on Youtube

This song reminds me of when I was relapsing based on the words. It reminds me why I don’t want to go back.

I will definitely listen as soon as I get a break

Ha there is always this one too. I love this song. I hated rehab for the first 15 days. But after that I knew it saved my life.

Amen brother Rehab definitely saved mine as well. Although I slept for the first week
