Is Journaling an Effective tool in Recovery?

Some people like to talk about things, other do not, journaling has become an effective way for people to write down how they feel and what they are feeling. In recovery some people do not feel comfortable just talking to anyone, having a journal that is just for you and you only can be a great way to get all your feelings, thoughts, and ideas out on paper.

I started journaling about 2 years ago, I am not big on talking about things I am feeling and I found I would build my feelings up. Journaling became a great way for me to out all my thoughts and feelings out there without actually have to say them to someone and in my experience made me feel so much better.

Quick question! Is journaling effective in recovery or is it overrated?
