Is Mindfulness Just a Fad?

Mindfulness and meditation come in many forms. In recovery, especially on harder days, it is good to sometimes take a moment, just be with yourself, and just be in the moment to collect your thoughts and then continue with your day

I have found that when I am having a bad day or something in my day happens to throw me off, I go somewhere, sit by myself and take a moment to myself to breath and collect myself and my thoughts.

Journaling can be a great alternative to mindfulness, writing down your thoughts and feelings, and getting it all out on paper.

Quick Question! What’s your take on mindfulness? Effective strategy or overhyped trend?

I believe mindfulness is an effective strategy that everyone should practice. I have found that meditation and journaling personally have been successful for me.

I do not see mindfulness as a trend.

It has been around for uh, a while.
Century after century.

The West takes aspects of, from other ( ancient ) cultures and maybe that is how and why the word, β€œ trend β€œ gets used?

Mindfulness makes a difference.
( My opinion ).
Meditation.
Yoga.
Breathing exercises.
Bringing mindfulness to daily aspects of life makes a difference.

Journaling is one form of mindfulness.

I do not see, view it as an β€œ alternative β€œ.

It is another tool, form of being mindful.

I think it is both. It was a real thing prior to being part of woke culture, and despite being an accessory to prove one's wokeness, it's definitely a good way of being and still practiced by many, without the need for waxing about how mindful they are.

Mindfulness is something I use everyday in my sobriety practice and it works great for my overactive brain that wants immediate gratification. I personally don't mind it being part of the woke trend if it's helping people make positive change. Life will never be one size fits all for anything even though they try to force wokeness on us.
