Is smoking CBD against recovery??
I feel like im cheating on getting sober by smoking CBD, but i have severe anxiety and a chronic illness so part of me feels like im cheating but part of me feels like this is okay… I have noticed a huge difference in my life since I stopped drinking and smoking so im happy with the growth so far. What do you think? Should i just completely cut out CBD or is that fine during recovery?
You smoke cbd? Thought it was an oil with thc removed? Got no clue what this stuff is. Would be like drinking na beer to me. Hmmmm
You mean like smoking weed or is it something that doesn’t get you high?
There is flower that is high in CBD and really low in THC (.9%)
Its a flower that I smoke ( oils don’t really work for me) but it doesn’t get me high. Just helps with anxiety and my chronic illness pain. So part of me feels like its ok but i dont know
I smoke cbd too. It is very healing. Your recovery is your own. Sobriety means different things for different people.
Idk why it would be a problem then. There are no rules for recovery, but I would be concerned about getting high, if that’s what it did (sounds like that’s a no). In recovery we are trying to live without altering our conscious. For me if I use anything that gets me “high” reduces my inhibition and will trigger my addiction leading right back to my drug of choice (booze). Does that make sense?
Question about your cbd...is it a cbd or a dull spectrum cbd? I ask because where I am even a full spectrum CBD only had 3% thc by volume.
Hi Monalise, your sobriety is your own. As long as you don’t feel triggered by the cbd, and it is benefitting your life, then keep moving forward as is. It is most likely helping you stay sober if it helps with your anxiety.
CBD has no psychoactive effects. You’re fine.
I think its really a personal choice but I take CBD for the health benefits! For me personally Im okay with taking it as it doesn't inhibit/affect my mental state. Since there is no psychoactive effects I think its fine!! Definitely not cheating or anything like that!
I don’t think so eveone has a problems but Everone is may be a addiction but that doesn’t mean it can all be treated the same for example im attic to heroin and sold it for too long never shot it cuz I always hear it’s the best n worst thing they ever done. I’m no on any obligations or parole probation and I have a medical card n never had a drinking problem I still go to bar n eat tho n get my friends drunk friends home is all I tell them cuz that they life they chose not my n yes I hear it all the time n agree go enough u will end up drinking so I can’t keep doing it. Any how I chose not to smoke or drink because what I’m doing is working for me I just accept my addiction but just change it’s diet and keep chasing my life cuz I’m a attic n know it’s not going anywhere so if smoking help u with whatver do it do whatver it take to get the help u need it’s ur addiction ur problems
So lit that ship
Meh. Only if you’re a purist, which I am not. Although I don’t use it as much initially, marijuana was hugely helpful in easing my way through an alcohol abuse disorder. If your marijuana use becomes an issue then I believe you have your answer
Are you smoking cbd or delta 8?
Cbd is not psychoactive so it doesn't mess with your brain. It probably is the most natural substance to use to calm down nerves, help with sleep, anti-inflammatory, and even kids can use it for health purposes but just make sure it doesn't contain any thc.
I’ve been clean 3 years off opioids. I have severe pain from crohns dx, rectal cancer and scoliosis. I started smoking cbd without any THC in it after I took a job selling it. How different is cbd from an ibprofen (which I can’t take due to gi bleed) or a Tylenol or even an antidepressant. We do what we have to do to stay clean. For me, pain is what has caused relapses in the past. I’d prefer to avoid too much pain if I can. It also helps calm you to sleep and sleep is so crucial in recovery.
I was smoking a mix of CBD, Delta 8 and THC months after I quit drinking. I cut out blunts and joints just for vaping. Personally, my smoking ramped up as a result of quitting drinking, as did other unhealthy habits. It became unmanageable and I had to give it up and change my sobriety date. This was right for me and my definition of sobriety. If you are using it medicinally and you don’t find it unmanageable in your life, I don’t see the issue. Your sobriety is your own, but I’d trust your gut instinct as well.
Well said!
I don’t use cbd. If my sponsee asked me I wouldn’t suggest smoking any cannabis.
Well learn something new everyday. Never knew about this stuff. And yeah, I’m old school. I used hard core. So I recover hard core. We all different. Yet, I do what works for me. To each their own. Good luck.
