Is there anywhere I can do like a packet or something? Something I can do for like “Homework”
try the NA workbook. It is used by many in AA
I have all my sponsees use the NA step working guide. I used it myself in the first year. Reading the 12 steps and 12 traditions (aa) is also very helpful for my own step work.
It works how and why, it green and gold in color.
They purdy much summed it up above.
Welcome Rob Miles Jr.!
I’m an alcoholic. I work the program of Alcoholics Anonymous. I’ve done the step work throughly with my sponsor and continue to do a daily reprieve, which consists of answering a few questions on page 86 of the big book. I journal just about everyday. I’m not perfect but I try. Meditation and prayer are part of my homework as well as being of service.
There’s a great workbook in NA, there are a few other programs like smart recovery, life ring, recovery dharma, celebrate recovery and refuge recovery. They all serve there purpose in the recovery world. I’ll pray that you find something that works for you my friend.
Hi Rob - if you’re in a 12 step fellowship, start by reading the Big Book (AA) or the Basic Text (NA) cover-to-cover. Maybe highlight the passages that you can relate to. That is a basic first starting point. I was a NA member for years and didn’t do that - and then wondered why I kept relapsing
. Once I sat down and read it, and then worked the 12 steps with a sponsor (using the NA Step Working Guide, as referenced above), my recovery grew and I lost the desire to use, just for today.
