Is this place tolerant of people who are not "In Recovery" but are Straightedge/Sober as a lifestyle choice made without addiction? I did Dry January and then just kept it up. I did it not just for health, but primarily to be an ally and advocate for people I know who are in Recovery. At the nonaffiliated meeting we have daily at the Recovery Community I volunteer with, I have never used the words "Man In Recovery" because I don't want people thinking I am something I don't claim to be. I'm sensitive to be honest with people.

Also formerly incarcerated, so if you are as well I know it's hard.. don't give up on your reentry. It DOES get better, day by day.

Just my opinion : the more the merrier. There is no shortage of people needing acute help on here almost at any given moment so any help for them is welcome. You may have a hard time conveying some advice pertaining to experience if you aren't an addict, but I'm sure you can help in myriad other ways. The perspective from a non-addict may actually be refreshing in many instances. Thank you Jesse
