Just need to network, find a sponsor, work the steps, go to meetings and get use to knowing yourself in ways you are not familiar with at this point in your life. Yes, I am very aware this is easier said than done at times but embrace this journey. Point out all the things you are grateful for at each start of the day. Dang, we are lucky to be alive!!!!! Reach out if you need to network. I am available
Your definitely not alone. Some days the emptiness and loneliness leads me hardest toward a relapse but I push through hoping for better days
What supplements do you take? I’ve been thinking about trying some.
Try the online meetings. You can just sit in the background if you get overwhelmed.
If you ever just want to vent or are looking for advice I am around. I’m 26 months in and the feelings of alone still appear.
Just slow things down. One thing at a time. I suffer from anxiety. Once you get thru attending your first meeting it gets easier from there. Try not to overwhelm yourself thinking of too many things at one time. Remember, baby steps.
I did journaling for a while but I got lazy on writing. I started with online meetings where I could leave my camera and mic off and just be a fly until I was comfortable
I’m right there with you, my work schedule is ridiculous and even though it keeps me busy the majority of the day, when it’s time to get off and go to my apartment I’m just alone and lonely and it makes me sad and unmotivated but I know it’s for the best I just hope it’s not always like this.
The hardest thing for us is to reach out 602-332-2955 we can talk about anything, nothing, or sit in silence-> how I watch hallmark movies or iron because it sooths me, how I drink so much soda water that the grocery store where I go can hardly keep it stocked... we can talk about emotions, feelings, conciousness, quantum theory...really there is nothing I won't talk about... no reasons, no agendas, no motives... just someone on the other end...or text me and I'll do the hard part...up to you...
I am with you girl…I have the worst social anxiety too. I had a bad medical accident and smashed my face up and am now even more self-conscious than I used to be before the “head banging incident “ as I call it. I want to go to meetings but can’t bring myself to.
It’s an opportunity to get comfortable being by yourself. The group of people I used to run with, made me feel more alone than actually being alone. If that makes any sense.
Journaling helps me a ton. I just have no desire to open up that much to anyone, anymore.
Absolutely reach out to people in recovery. Whether it's meetings or this app, people will be happy to give you the support you need
