It’s not easy, but it’s possible. Today, 69 days sober

It’s not easy, but it’s possible. Today, 69 days sober from alcohol. I’m feeling very sad, I can’t stop crying.
It’s now time to seek therapy and work on my inner self. The abusive relationship I keep going back to beats my soul. The empty love was filled with alcohol for a brief moment of comfort when he’d abandon me. Now I’m alone again to feel every stab. I’m choosing not to drink but to seek therapy because I know this isn’t normal and no one deserves to be left drowning in tears with the wonders of why. Today, day 69 i know I don’t deserve any of this and am worthy of a healthy relationship. With every tear running down my face, the heavy breathing and screaming of my soul.. every gasp for air brings me peace that this shall pass and I God is always on my side.
Thank you. Today I am sad but thankful.

I’m glad you’re letting and allowing these emotions flow from you, holding them in will only hurt more. Getting the therapy you need in order to live happy and healthy is so Important, one of The most important things you can do for yourself other than staying sober.

It’s not going to be easy, therapy will bring to life things you have shoved down so far and forgotten about, but it’s So Worth It… you’ll keep waking up more proud of yourself than the day before. Even on your hardest days just know you’re doing the right thing, Girl.

I’ve been clean and sober for 2 yrs, and have done plenty of therapy in those yrs as well- Staying sober & starting therapy is one of the Biggest gifts you can give yourself.

Feel free to message me anytime

It’s definitely possible!! I’m sorry it hurts so much right now, but it is the pain that motivates us to do the work necessary to recover and be happy. Since you are looking into therapy, perhaps you might be interested in IGNTD Recovery? I’ve done work with both Adi and Sophie Jaffe. Look it up and check it out. Lmk if you have any questions. I can definitely make the introduction if you’re interested. There a bunch of other programs as well. I just know IGTD does a lot of therapy work, and I think they are great!

Most definitely is a part of grieving, and it won’t be easy, some days you’ll really be tested and wonder why you’re doing all of this in the first place- that’s when you breath deep and remind yourself who you are, why you started this journey… it’s okay to have bad days, sad days, angry days, allow yourself to feel it all. It’s okay to visit, just don’t un pack and live there.

It’s a recovery program. https://www.igntd.com/
I first heard about it on a podcast I was listening to. Dr Adi Jaffe was the guest speaker, and I really liked what he said. I started listening to his podcast Podcasts — IGNTD
From there, I’ve done some therapy with him, and some couples therapy with he and his wife Sophie. It’s a different philosophy than AA. He’s an incredible therapist, and his wife Sophie is very special as well. I just thought it might be a good fit for you.

The fact that you’re hanging onto your gratitude is good stuff. Obviously everyone is different but staying grateful for what I do and don’t have etc has been been key and a major player in my sobriety. Congratulations!! Depending on where you are you made it to day 70! It’s only 840 in the 808. Good work! :call_me_hand:t3:

Do something nice for yourself! Keep fighting the good fight. Cook yourself an amazing dinner, go get a massage whatever makes you feel good. The beautiful part of time alone is the ability to heal, and the freedom let go of the toxic stuff that doesn’t serve you well.
