Hello and good morning Loosid!
This is very true and can be very difficult early in sobriety. Some say to quit one thing at a time. For me, I was able to put down meth, alcohol, tobacco and caffeine all within a month or two of each other. Sugar is one that is the most difficult one to give up. I’m doing my best as I watch how much I consume. I find it’s best when I’m a mindful eater. I can truly watch what I eat and how much.
I truly believe that me taking steps 1, 2, &3 of Alcoholics Anonymous with my very first Sponsor the urges to drink, so drugs and chew tobacco were removed from me. I’ve even added new healthy habits to my life such as hiking, biking and daily and nightly exercising. Simple yoga stretches with push-ups and bicep curls have helped shape my body. I’m not going for big body building just maintain strength and my weight.
This wasn’t over night. It took compassion towards myself. Which I didn’t have during my addiction.
What’s one thing today you can cut out of you life? What are you doing to achieve that goal?
I hope to hear some of your stories.
Have a wonderful day filled with love and peace within my friends!
