It was really hard to get back on here and read the comments. I felt like a failure. How can so many people care so much about someone they’ve never met. All of your words of encouragement help so much. I’ve been so embarrassed with my alcohol use with so many people in my life it’s hard to open up with people not in my life if you understand. Anyone I come close to runaway when they find out I like to drink. But it’s getting better. I just don’t think about it. I know I have to acknowledge it eventually but for now…. candy helps. I walked outside late to the gas station last night and there were cars passing by. I wondered if they thought I was drunk or high. I was proud to not be either but thought if I still looked it. Comes with the territory I guess. I was proud though. Still am. 4 days now. Let’s hope!

Some of the people in those cars passing you were probably drunk or high....
Don't be embarrassed, unfortunately this happens, but hope? Fück hope. Although hope is a verb it's hardly doing something to maintain your sobriety. Get that support system. Get to meetings, no excuses. It's all right there for you, take it. Take your life as serious as you want others to take it. You can do this, but you need help. It's there for you. Get your a$$ in a program, to meetings, and stop relying on a bìtch called hope.

Don't worry about what people think. Far to often we are more critical on their behalf than they would be. Keep moving forward and make sure to find a program to help you through.
