Its a job

I was talking to a close friend of mine who has not gone to the lengths I have gone to strive towards sobriety, yet it is extremely obvious that he is aware of his alcohol intake and all the baggage that comes along with it. He had a great point, in my opinion. He said it’s like a job. It’s like a second job.

I know it seems trivial, but I can agree 100% with him. I literally wake up every day and think about my relationship with alcohol- every single day. I go on apps like this, wake up every morning and post my gratitude list. I reach out to people on my list of friends striving for sobriety. It’s not something that everyone does, but it helps me personally, kind of keeps me in check.

But I’ll tell you this, if I put this much effort into an actual job, I would be the most flagship, 5star employee ever imagined.

It does require that same dedication and commitment that anyone would put towards their career. Working two full time jobs is hard AF but is so worth the rewards!

I always say it’s a full time job plus some.
