It's been 80 days. My boyfriend has been onboard till yesterday. We had to borrow his daughter's car so, we could get some groceries. His daughter's boyfriend's grandfather just passed away on Valentine's day. My boyfriend dropped me off to return the car. Then, 2 hours went by. Then, I thought he better not be drinking. I checked my bank account and yes there was a purchase. I called him and said yeah, he was there drinking with his family. I told well, sleep there. He didn't. He came home wasted. In the kitchen passed out at the table. I had to tell him go to be and pass out. I'm so angry. I'm unemployed and been stressed out about bills and he's going to spend money and get wasted! I told him last night I can't be with someone that's going to go drinking whenever he wants. I hope he has a hangover from l hope he has a terrible hangover. I can't live with anyone that drinks that's just the way it is. He better do some heavy thinking because I can't deal with that. Sorry, just venting.

I would pray about it and go talk to your sponsor and see what she says

That's so sad. But if you do love him then pray about it.

Has he been sober for 80 days too? If so, maybe it’s just a one time thing and he can jump back on the wagon. It can be tough staying sober around your own family when they are the ones encouraging it at times. Family and best friends are sometimes the hardest to be around, unfortunately.

It's a hard pill to swallow in recovery, but we are only in a position to keep ourselves sober, and as much as we might want to, it just isn't part of the program to regulate someone else's behavior. Of course that's not to say you don't set boundaries, especially if you are susceptible to temptation. You have definitely discovered one of the most difficult things that you will deal with, but look to other sober members to guide you and it will all work out for the good.
