It's been great

Since I started living my life without the use of drugs and alcohol I have been hired in two different top earning positions. The one I hold today is a supervisor position for a local hotel that holds promises for a GM position down the line. It's been great but unfortunately I have some hating co-workers who complain about me every chance they get. My work is good and my bosses know this but how do I handle them without being petty?? I guess only time will tell and I should quit fantasizing about planting drugs in their cars. Happy holidays y'all.

PSA that was a joke there's no way I would do that. f.y.i.

Thank you

That's great news! As long as your doing a great job it doesn't matter what your co-workers are saying. They may have some troubling times in their own life and protrude it unto others. Try not to take it personally. Hopefully that may help you in some way.

This post is great. I love hearing of all the miraculous gifts of sobriety. As for the haters, they will propel you forward, it's all in the learning. No need to plant drugs, they unfortunately have their misery in one form or another already. Find the one or two receptive ones and build on that. You've got this, may the new year bring you enlightenment and open new doors!

Why do they complain about you? Are you too productive? I tell people in the workplace if they ask that it's more important to be liked than it is to do standout work in most jobs. I was a great worker - quality, accurate work and well liked by the customers- but I was not a popular coworker. I was promoted at the end of my career based on my work but popular people get promoted faster.

Yes I've seen that too! They're complaining about the new policy I helped enforce to have them help out with the back of the house whenever we're overbooked, they basically felt I was asking them to do something I myself wasn't doing. But that's not the case I openly love my hotel and help out everywhere. So I guess I can understand where they're coming from.
