It's been on my mind

Witches call it spells
Christians call it prayer
Spiritualists call it manifestation
Atheists call it the placebo effect
Scientists call it quantum physics
Everyone's arguing over its name
No one is denying its existence

So call it what you want; call it what you want to.

Yup

Hank Chinaski is my High Powered low tech power ..

I don't care what anyone calls "it". Just don't be telling people "it" is the only way to live right.

Just for the sake of discussion, there is no reason to claim that all of those things are actually the same thing.

... care to elaborate?

Sure. The list has items that can seem world/ reference changing or sometimes abstract in nature. But that doesn't make quantum physics the same as placebo effect for example.

They are all something that means something to people.

I suppose...My thought process didn't delve deep into each and my intent wasn't necessarily meant to claim they're all the same. I'm not one to really press the nature of higher powers and advise on how I get by in my sobriety, but have fallen ill (aka flu+shingles) and had a lot of time to scroll. A lot of light was bestowed upon God/prayer & to be frank, my odd little mind went into hyper speed around the ideas of energy and matter and being and believing. I most likely didn't address your concern there, so my apologies
I do appreciate the conversation :relieved:

Exactly

No apologies, no concern. I enjoy intellectual discussion.

What does Herbert Spencer call it. See the Appendix of the AA big book, IF you’re interested.

Well, I'm not sure what Herbert Spencer calls it. My takeaway from simply Herbert's quote is don't come to conclusions without having all the facts? - outside of AA, I find this scholarly lad quite interesting as his analysis on organisms and societies is very sensible

That was poetic. I love writing and reading these types of things. It’s confronting something important with a creative flare. It helps me get things out, process something difficult and find enlightenment in it somewhere. Thanks for that

You don't have to do that. Those steps are SUGGESTED, it says so right in the book. Also, "to thineself be true". Saying words you don't believe isn't true to yourself and being forced to say something you don't believe in is brainwashing.

Whatever blows your hair back.

I'll see your bacon and raise you some Pu$$y Magic. Put THAT on the list.
