It's day 1 for me of recovery. It's been 20 years coming. I know it's going to be hard. However something about my addiction, seems different anymore. It's a feeling of comfort, like my body is so tired, that it's just not worth it anymore. I am even to the point, where it doesn't affect me, like it used to. I've prayed and I just feel, the old me will be coming home, to stay for good this time! So, wish me luck!

Peace and Blessings,

Jake

That’s the feeling of surrender. You’ve accepted powerlessness and unmanageability. That’s the first step! It is really hard to do this alone. After a 25 year drinking career, I felt the same way. Begrudgingly I tried a 12 step program and I haven’t had a drink in 15 months and 22 days. It works if you work it.

Hi Jake! Seems like you are ready for sobriety, I was in a similar place when I quit drinking, I was just done. Find a community to get plugged into, support is huge in early sobriety. Good luck!

I understand what you mean. I feel at peace and ready to accept my demons and not kick myself anymore.
